There are no trademarks registered by Nintendo nor by any dummy corp in the U.S or over there for Wii. This is unprecedented for Nintendo and it is not possible that this is an oversight. If Wii were the name, they would have registered it. In fact, no new trademarks have been registered by Nintendo at all.

Are Wii a hoax?
According to this blog, the name Wii is just an elaborate hoax to drive up expectations for this years E3, where the real name of the console will be revealed. Let me quote the most interesting parts from it:

I think wii probably is not the real name since nintendo did the same with the game cube, since they named it Dolphin first, i'll see the report of E3 at the magazines, since I can't afford going there. And yeah, the game of Linda will be so fun, but it's a pity that I live in Mexico and cannot go to Umea to play it hahahaha. I also have my fantasy world, but don't want to be a copy guy, I'm reading tons and tons of books to reference, not to copy, less copy on Linda. Well, I hope my loooong comment is not too disturbing.
